Stress is one of the major factors in decreasing productivity at work and even in personal life and is also one of the major contributor to the majority of lifestyle diseases including hypertension, diabetes, depression and other psychology related diseases including dementia. In the previous, I discussed about how to keep stress at bay and today I am going to discuss how to reduce stress when you already fallen prey.
Listen to the music: Whenever I feel stressed, I get myself engrossed in light music away from the usual crowds. According to the psychologists, music fills our brain with feel good neuro chemicals, like dopamine. Listening to the music slows down your blood pressure and heart beat and also let your brain to be relaxed.
Take a short break: I am following this ritual for the past three years and it helped me in reducing my stress at many points of time. I usually coupled the break with nutritious snacks like cinnamon tea, bread and even some dry fruits or atleast water.
Vent out your concerns in words: According to psychologists venting out the anger or the things which is causing stress in words can help you in reducing the stress to huge levels
Exercise: According to neurologists exercise or other physical activity releases endorphin. Endorphin can help to lower the pain of the stress to huge level.
Have a hearty laugh: Whenever I am stressed, I usually watch rants, comedy videos or satirical news column or watch any comedy movie which makes to laugh out laud.
Connect to family member or friend: I usually called up my family or friends and discussed things with them or have a one on one conversation with them at some place and this will help me in reducing the stress to a good extent.
