Lets get to the basic of the word Entrepreneur, and who really an entrepreneur is. Any individual who is involved in doing business or managing enterprise functions can qualify to be referred as an entrepreneur but if one is going down the line and is referring leaders of business like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Peter Theil and Bill Gates as entrepreneur, than the very definition fails the test and the definition of entrepreneur should be anentrepreneur finds opportunity in the market or a problem to be solve and have burning desire to build an enterprise by finding a solution.
An entrepreneur knows how to create a solution which can satisfy the needs of every stake holders and also has a basic idea of who are his customers. They may sometimes disrupt the entire market by building an innovative product or may bring a solution to the unorganized industry by building a sustainable solution, but every time the primary factor that drives them is to create something that adds value.
How to become Entrepreneur:
As I mentioned in my previous posts on Myths of Experience and Knowledge among first time entrepreneurs, becoming an entrepreneur is not as difficult as it seems to be but most of them fail because of failing in acquiring some basic qualities. Most first time entrepreneurs, often starts with big dreams and tread the path to become like their icons but almost 90% of them fail, because of not adopting their icons qualities.
Almost every entrepreneur, barring some few, who make big, possessed or adopted following qualities:
Integrity: Integrity is the characteristic of great people and one who is determined to be entrepreneur should build his own self and his enterprise on integrity.
Passion: Passion to learn, passion to start, passion to read, passion to sell, passion to build, passion to solve and most importantly passion to be determined of achieving one's goal
Persistence: One of the most difficult task in the world is to become entrepreneur and the implied result in executing difficult task is chance of getting failed but entrepreneurs are bound to be persistent to achieve one's goal and they are always ready for a Plan B.
Adaptability: Though as an entrepreneur one is envisioned about his goal but he/she should always ready to adopt the changing market scenarios and should always be ready to reevaluate solution/product and should revamp it based on the market scenario to offer better value to stake holders.
Decisiveness: As an Entrepreneur one is bound to take many hard decisions and to evaluate one based on many inputs from various sources and a successful entrepreneur knows how to take one which can benefit his enterprise in the long run.
